Finding the Right Hearing Aid

There are many styles and types of hearing aids available, so it can seem overwhelming to choose the right one. At Lakeland Hearing Care, we are here for you. We will help you find the right hearing aid for your unique lifestyle and hearing loss. When recommending hearing aids, there are a few factors we consider.

Hearing Needs – We will first assess your hearing loss by measuring its severity. The severity of your hearing loss will help us determine how powerful of a hearing aid you will need.

Lifestyle Needs – We will consider your lifestyle needs. Whether you enjoy quiet, intimate gatherings with a few close friends or an active outdoor lifestyle that includes a lot of background noise – there is a hearing aid designed specifically for your activity level.

Cosmetic Preference – Cosmetic preference is a key factor when choosing a hearing aid. You will be wearing your hearing aids every day, so we want you to feel comfortable and confident. Hearing aids are available in a wide variety of styles and sizes. They also come in many different colors and can match your hair or skin tone.

Budget – We will work with you to find a hearing aid that addresses your hearing needs and is within your budget. Hearing aids are an investment, and we want you to get the most out of your device.

Hearing Aid Fitting and Counseling

Recommending hearing aids is only the beginning of the process. After you receive your hearing aids you will come back into our office for a fitting appointment. Our audiologists will expertly fit the hearing aids to your unique ear shape and will program them to meet your hearing needs. We also provide all of our patients with counseling, so you can adequately adjust to hearing sounds again. We will go over with you what you can expect from your hearing aids and how to adjust to them.

We will then schedule a follow-up appointment a few weeks after your initial fitting. We want to be sure that your hearing aids fit comfortably in your ears and are working properly for you. During your follow-up appointment we can make any adjustments necessary to make your listening experience smoother.
